The installation is based on Zope, the EC-CHM/GBIF Web Site Toolkit, and the GBIF Data Repository Tool.

Bioshare used to be a research, development, and education server for biodiversity informatics. It is not updated actively anymore. It is still hosted by Taisia Ltd for the Department of the Forest Sciences (including functions of the former Department of Applied Biology) of the University of Helsinki.
